I've always said in my blogs that you have to love yourself just a little more than anyone or anything else to be truly happy. If you can accomplish that, everything else in life that makes you happy is just gravy on your fabulous meatloaf.

Too many people believe money, power and ego is that best gravy. Many would say that family is the best gravy. I say that friends are the best gravy.

I've had money, power and ego and it never made me happier. I believe family can add to your happiness, but if those family members are not your friends then I question how much additional happiness they will bring you.

My wife is my best friend and she makes me very happy. I get a great deal of happiness when something good happens to all my other friends. Even though I love myself first, it sure feels good when, as Joe Cocker sang "I get a little help from my friends."

It also makes me happy when I'm being a good friend to my friends. You see; even though I suggest you love yourself unconditionally, get your extra gravy by:

The Best Father's Day Ever

The Best Father's Day Present Ever

Today I just had the best Father's Day Present ever. It's been almost two years since I've seen my son, my Daughter-in-law and my two Grand Kids.  My wife and I came from Los Angeles and their family came from San Diego. We all met at Seasons 52 in Costa Mesa (about half way for the both of us).

My Daughter-in-law is a beautiful person and made this get-together happen. I can't thank her enough. My son and I have had our differences for the last two years and I sensed he was a little uncomfortable at times, but he came - BABY STEPS - BABY STEPS.

The Grand Kids are six and nine. Both of them are well behaved. I assume it's because they've had great parenting. Both kids are different in many ways, but both of them are creative, bright and meticulous. It felt so good to see them, talk to them and best of all, hug them.

This Father's Day (like Mother's Day) is a reminder of how important family should be to you. If you're a family member, do your best to make this:

50 Dead - 53 Injured

In my blogs I try to not pick sides, but today's disaster reminds me of my deep feelings that have to come out even though I know some or even many of you will not agree with me.

In case you haven't gotten out of bed yet, a terrorist went into an Orlando Gay nightclub and with a legal assault rifle killed 50 people and injured 53 more. Not only was this an inconceivable and cowardly ISIS terrorist crime it was a hate crime.

For this to happen, many people are to blame. The government interviewed and ignored this man even though they knew he was an ISIS sympathizer.  The laws of America allowed this man to legally purchase two guns and an assault rifle two days before he murderer 50 wonderful US citizens. 

The people who knew him had to know he was not only dangerous, but that he had hatred in his heart for the LGBT community. Not one of these people spoke out. Probably some of them agreed with his inhuman positions.

Lastly, what is wrong with the American people that we continue to allow laws that make it easy for someone to get an assault rifle? This is a weapon designed to create mass killings by the military. There is absolutely NO reason for any individual or any very small group to have these weapons.

I don't like guns period, but if this person was only allowed to get a gun or two, the carnage would have been much, much less.

The Gun Lobby will say that guns don't kill - people do. When it comes to assault weapons I'm calling bullshit. The Gun Lobby hides behind the Constitution and says everybody has the right to bear arms. Let's get real here, that Constitution was written when the most dangerous weapon was a rifle that had to be reloaded one shot at a time. The Gun Lobby will say this man would find another way to get an assault rifle. That is an insane reason to make it legal.

It's time the American people modify or restate that part of the Constitution. If we have the will, it can be done - For The Good Of The People!

I'm outraged and I'm taking out my anger on the America people. Most Republican politicians agree with the Gun Lobby. Most Democrat politicians are so afraid of losing money or votes they look the other way. 

The bottom line is, WE THE PEOPLE, vote for these politicians. WE THE PEOPLE, know it's wrong, but we continue to let it happen over and over again. The time is NOW for us to  wake-up, open our windows so all our neighbors can hear us and with our voice and our votes shout out:

So it's Hillary VS. Trump. The war begins. This will be an ugly race. Both sides will attack each other in the most negative way. The press will be lapping it up. Shit will come out from both sides that will make most of us nauseated.

 Let me tell you what's at stake.

*  A new Supreme Court Judge (that might be the most important decision this race will decide).

*  Our relationship with the rest of the world including the countries that don't like America.

*  How we deal with Terrorism (Sending in a lot of troops or not).

*  Our relations and treatment of minorities and LGBT rights.

*  How we deal with Wall Street, Big Banks and the 1% who holds most of the money.

*  Whether the Federal Government will legalize Pot or continue to leave it up to the states.

*  Whether the Middle Class gains, stays the same, or loses.

*  Whether we build a wall or not.

*  Whether we have an affordable healthcare law for everyone.

*  Whether we have a new immigration law that gives the current people a chance for gaining Citizenship.

*  Whether the Congress (both the House and the Senate) have a one party majority. 

In my opinion this last one is the second (second to a new Supreme Court Justice) most important aspect of this race.  Most of the things above probably will not happen either way if we stay with a divided Congress. Gridlock will continue as it has done for many years.

If you are for Trump, it is critical you get control of the Senate in the next two years or his plans won't get approved.  If you are for Hillary, you must get control of the House in the next two years or her plans will not get approved.

This choice is critical. This is why everyone must vote in this race and the political race two years from now.  Hillary will need every one of Bernie's supporters. Trump will need every politician (Republican Governors, Mayors and Congress) to support him.

 In my humble opinion, Hillary wins in a landslide.
