Pain
"Pain, what is it good for - absolutely nothing."
Take it from someone who has had to have hardware put into my neck and my lower back, Pain sucks. I was the recipient of my father's great brain, his wonderful sense of humor, but unfortunately his bad spine. In my opinion, I believe it was a good trade-off. Sooo, I have had (and still have) pain since I've been 25 years old. Again, pain sucks the big one.
One of my best friends is going through this right now and it makes me feel for him. However, there is some good news. All my operations were a success. I still have some pain, but going from a pain level of 10 to a pain level of 4 is a win. I believe when my friend has his surgery, he will have the same luck or better.
The other good news is that the human brain has been designed to "remember" the previous pain, but we don't "experience" that pain again. Of course, we might get another pain somewhere else in our body, but the 10 pain I had is now in the past and my brain "remembers" I had it, but I don't feel it.
The pain that can take much longer to go away is mental pain. The loss of a loved one, a very bad decision that one believes ruined a life, a disfiguration that leaves a scar in one's mental state, the pain of loneliness and the pain of depression, can take much longer to get over than the pain of a broken arm.
Being a very positive person and if you are reading my blogs or seeing someone that can help you, you should have the tools to overcome mental pain over time. You'll never forget that mental pain, but you'll learn to live with it if you love life. Life is good, life is good. Even with pain, life is good (death is never good).
In the English language the word pain can be used to describe someone. How many times have you said: "that guy is a pain in my ass." That has nothing to do with an actual pain in your ass - can you spell hemorrhoids. How about: "it's such a pain to watch my team lose. How about: it's a pain to do my taxes.
Lastly, pain is important. The brain developed pain to let you know when something is wrong. If we didn't have pain, we wouldn't know that your hand is in the fire. The brain is a wonderful thing, but sometimes it's a pain in the ass. Sooo;
Pain, What Is It Good For - Absolutely Nothing Unless It's The Necessary Evil Of Life.
