Life Is About Time Spent

Life Is About Time Spent

I've written about Time in many of my blogs because I believe it is the most precious thing we have. Oh sure, almost everyone would say that good health is the most precious thing we have. I agree health is critical, but what good is good health if you just ignore the amount of Time you have on this earth.

This blog is not about how long a Time a person can live, it's about Time Spent. We all squander Time every day. We say: "I'll do that tomorrow." We say: "I'll make that difficult decision sometime in the future." We say: "I know I need a vacation, but I just have too much work to do." We say: "I really want to try "this" but I just don't have the Time."

Kobe Bryant lived a life we all would have loved to have. Kobe Bryant made the most of the Time he had. Kobe Bryant believed Life Is About Time Spent. He would have made even more of his Time if it didn't end at 41.

Now is the Time for you to think about Time Spent. Now is the Time to consider doing something different with your Time. Now is the Time to consider how you're spending your Time. Now is the Time to realize that;

We All Are Running Out Of Our Precious TIME

Put A Little Love In Your Heart And A Little Heart In Your Love

Put A Little Love In Your Heart And A Little Heart In Your Love

I'm at the gym listening to the Commodores's song: "Sweet Love." I decided not to write my own blog and just let you read the lyrics. If only what the lyrics say could be true, my life, your life and the world would be a much better place.
Sweet Love
Show me a river that's so deep
Show me a mountain so high
I'll show you love that'll last forever
Flying high, so high
Ah, show me a place where dreams are for dreamers
And all the things you wish come true, yeah
I'd wish the world had all happy people
Then there'd be no more wishing to do
Sun shines over the rainbow
High on a hill
Take a ride on a magic carpet
And you know its for real
The world is filled with all the lonely people
Trying to find their way
All they need is a hand to guide them
To a brighter day
Sweet love that comes through the ages
Reach out and touch my soul
Gave my life so much meaning
And everyone a heart of gold
I know you're searchin'
I know you're searchin', for a little love
A little peace and understanding
And I know it's been hard tryin' to find your way
But you got to keep on searchin' harder day by day
'Cause I want you, and you, you, you, you, you, you, you you and you

Put a little love in your heart
And little heart in your love

With No Plan Nothing Could Go Wrong

With No Plan Nothing Could Go Wrong

I just watched the movie "Parasite." The father is a person who hates to take risks and his daughter is not happy with him. He says to his daughter: "With No Plan Nothing Could Go Wrong." Personally, I beg to differ.

Even if you sit in a room with no doors and windows for the rest of your life, something could go wrong. What if you get sick? What if you trip over the chair? What if you go NUTS (which will happen in just a few months)?

With No Plan, you'll live in perpetual shouldas and couldas. With no risks you'll never feel the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat. The latter is why many people don't take risks. I say, someone who never takes a risk is living half a life.

You see, almost all risks will never kill you (unless the risk is jumping out of an airplane). Risking a divorce, because you're unhappy, might get you to lose half or more of your money. Nobody has died from losing half of their money (can you spell Kenny Felderstein). Changing your job, because you want to do something that's more interesting, might turn out to be a bad move, but you won't die and you'll be more proud of yourself for taking the risk.

In my opinion, the people who never plan or take a risk, are doing so because of their fear of failure. I say, so what if you fail? You'll still have friends and loved ones. If you fail and you lose your friends and love ones - fuck -em. They weren't the people you should be hanging out with in the first place. Failure is a learning experience. Most importantly, failure will not kill you.

You see, living a life where you believe With No Plan Nothing Could Go Wrong is ignoring the fact that your life is only a few years long. It's ignoring the fact that your potential will never be realized. It's ignoring the fact that might never get what you deserve and that's:

HAPPINESS

Did It Ever Cross Your Mind

Did It Ever Cross Your Mind

Did It Ever Cross Your Mind that you should have married your college sweetheart? Did It Ever Cross Your Mind that you should have taken the job you really wanted, but didn't because it meant moving to another state? Did It Ever Cross Your Mind that you could have divorced a few friends that treated you badly?

Wellllll, there are no shouldas or couldas. Life is about doing not complaining. Life is about accepting the choices you made and moving on. Life is about doing things you can control not being angry at the things you can't control.

Did It Ever Cross Your Mind that you have control of your life? Did It Ever Cross Your Mind that you can do things that make you happy even if it pisses someone else off? Did It Ever Cross Your Mind that the shit that's going on in this country and the world IS NOT YOUR FAULT? Did It Ever Cross Your Mind your life is pretty dam good considering .......?

Unless we find a way to cheat death, humans today are only going to get 70 to 90 years of life. Did It Ever Cross Your Mind how you would live your life differently if humans today only got 30 to 40 years of life? I promise, there would be a lot less shouldas and couldas. I promise, you would focus on your happiness not their happiness. I promise you would focus less on money, material things and ego.

Sooo, for those young people, start thinking that you only have 40 years or less to get the most out of life. For those who have made it past 40, don't waste another minute thinking about:

Did It Ever Cross My Mind

Smart Kids Are The Ones That Will Rule The World

Smart Kids Are The Ones That Will Rule The World

Almost everyone will agree that Smart Kids Are The Ones That Will Rule The World. Sooo, if most of us agree with that statement, then why the hell are we not focused on making kids smarter?

Let's take a step back. Too many people believe that intelligence is a "born" trait. They believe that if a kid is intelligent, he or she must have been born with DNA that is superior to the average kid. Their belief is not true.

Yes, some kids are more left brained and therefore better at math. Yes, some kids are more right brained and better at creativity. And some kid's brains fire on both the left and right. However, a brain that has these traits is nothing but a blank slate.

Albert Einstein's brain had these traits, but he did not just wake up one day and write E=MC squared. Einstein, had people who encouraged him to learn math. Einstein, spent many, many years reading and talking to the great mathematicians, physicists and the great philosophers. It was through hard work that he became the icon of the solar system.

Was he smart - you bet? But his smarts did not just come from a good brain. His smarts came from using his brain through trial and error to create the physics of space travel. Today, scientists, using Einstein's work are learning more and more and someday in the far future, will find new math that will exceed what Einstein gave us.

Sooo, if we want Smart Kids To Will Rule The World, we have to develop Smart Kids and give them a reason to work hard. Today, we have the haves and have-nots. There is so much brain power in the have-nots that we are not taking advantage of.

What that means to me, is that only the kids that have wealthy parents can get a great education. What that means to me, is that only kids that are raised with a work ethic, have a chance to Rule The World. What that means to me is that all the other kids (even though they might be bright) will be slaves to the ones that will Rule The World. We must not let that happen.

Everyone deserves a great education. We need to pay the best teachers and the "would be" teachers so that it's worth their time to teach even if it's not in a great neighborhood. The government has to take money from going to Mars to give every college student free tuition so they can become the people that will take us to the planets, cure diseases, create the computers that will make life on this planet better, etc., etc., etc.

Lastly, we must invest in educating parents on the reasons to help their kids to succeed. We must give benefits to those parents who do a good job. We must help those parents who want to do a good job, but don't have the means or the education to do so.

I Guess We Can Let Only The Privileged Rule The World, But That's Not A World I Want To Live In.
