Wouldn't It Be Nice

Wouldn't It Be Nice

The Beach Boys wrote and sang the song "Wouldn't It Be Nice." It was about love at a young age. Here are a few lyrics:

Wouldn't it be nice if we were older?
Then we wouldn't have to wait so long
And wouldn't it be nice to live together
In the kind of world where we belong

Wouldn't it be nice if we could wake up
In the morning when the day is new?
And after having spent the day together
Hold each other close the whole night through

Wouldn't it be nice - Wouldn't It Be Nice?

I've decided to create my own version:

Wouldn't It Be Nice if there was no war
The world would be much more fun
Unfortunately there are way too many people
Who love having their guns

Wouldn't It Be Nice if Trump would just go away
I know it would make me very happy
However, it looks like, for the next four years, he's here to stay
UGH! Now I really feel crappy

Wouldn't It Be Nice if we decided not to go to Mars
We could spend those billions on curing Cancer
If we could just agree there is life on the other stars
Spending money curing major diseases would be a much better answer

Wouldn't It Be Nice if everyone agreed climate change is real
Then we could take our head out of our ass and save our precious earth
But, the fact is, some Politicians refuse to make a deal
They refuse to realize how much our planet is worth

Wouldn't It Be Nice if homelessness was a priority
Everybody would have food to eat, air to breathe and shelter
But, the people with all the money have the all the authority
If we don't solve this imbalance the poor will create Helter-Skelter

Wouldn't It Be Nice - Wouldn't It Be Nice

The Devil Made Me Do It

The Devil Made Me Do It

I didn't mean to cheat the IRS - The Devil Made Me Do It. I didn't mean to steal from my friend - The Devil Made Me Do It. I didn't mean to forget to tell the person I sold my car to that the spare tire was missing - The Devil Made Me Do It. I didn't mean to be Bernie Madoff - The Devil Made Me Do It.

One of my favorite songs by The Rolling Stones is called "Sympathy For The Devil." Here are a few lyrics from that song:

I was 'round when Jesus Christ

Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate

I stuck around St. Petersburg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed the czar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain

I rode a tank
Held a general's rank
When the blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank

I shouted out,
Who killed the Kennedys?
When after all
It was you and me

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game

Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me Lucifer
'Cause I'm in need of some restraint

It seems to me that too many of us have a problem taking ownership for our problems and/or our actions. "It's not my fault, McDonald's made me put that boiling hot coffee between my legs while I drove off with both of my hands on the wheel."

Is McDonald the devil or was that person just too stupid to realize her actions might burn the crap out of her leg? The one phrase in the Rolling Stone's song that strikes me the most is:

I shouted out,
Who killed the Kennedys?
When after all
It was you and me

That's right, it WAS you and me. We created the environment for that son of a bitch to kill my favorite President. The same was true about Lincoln. The devil didn't make those ass holes become murders. The world we created also created monsters - can you spell ISIS?

Putting the blame on the devil or anyone else for our actions is never going to lead to a happy life. Taking ownership, admitting mistakes, doing your best to fix what you broke is one of the keys to happiness.

There just isn't enough LOVE going on in this world. Are we going to wait around until GOD fixes this world or are we going to LOVE unconditionally even if we don't get what we want? Are we going to wait for a major catastrophe to happen before we realize that we play a role (even though it's minuscule) in what happens to this beautiful world we live in - can you spell global warming?

For those of you who hate the fact that I'm putting the blame on you and me:

Jealously

Jealously

Most people when they think of someone being Jealous it's about a girlfriend or boyfriend. Most married people don't see each other as Jealous. Maybe it's because they've become complacent with each other. Maybe it's because they've both become not as good looking as they were when they first met. Maybe it's because they've stop communicating with one another. Maybe, just maybe, they still love each other as much today as they did when they first got together (Ellen and I are in that category).

The thing is that people are Jealous about many, many more things than boyfriend or girlfriend. People are Jealous when a family member is more successful than they. People are Jealous when someone has better things than they do. People are Jealous when someone gets a promotion over them. I could go on and on, but you get the point.

The dictionary says Jealously is:

1.
feeling resentment against someone because of that person's rivalry, success, or advantages (often followed by of): He was jealous of his rich brother.
2.
feeling resentment because of another's success, advantage, etc. (often followed by of): He was jealous of his brother's wealth.
3.
characterized by or proceeding from suspicious fears or envious resentment: a jealous rage; jealous intrigues.
4.
inclined to or troubled by suspicions or fears of rivalry, unfaithfulness, etc., as in love or aims: a jealous husband.
5.
solicitous or vigilant in maintaining or guarding something: The American people are jealous of their freedom.

Truly happy people are almost never Jealous. Why? Because they have what they want in life and don't focus on what other people, family, States or Countries have that don't have. Truly happy people are the ones others are Jealous at - I wish I could be as happy as him.

Jealously is negative energy. It will never set you free. There are no good solutions or good outcomes. Sooo, if you want to be happy for the rest of your live:

Take Jealously Out Of Your Heart
