Take A Look At Yourself And Make A Change

Take A Look At Yourself And Make A Change

In the song by Michael Jackson, "Man In The Mirror," one of the lyrics are: "If You Want To Make The World A Better Place Take A Look At Yourself And Make A Change." I just love lyrics that hit a nerve.

You can look at the lyric "The World" and define it as "Your World" or "The Entire World." The one that hit home for me was "My World." When I was in my thirties "My World" was spinning out of control. It was so easy for me to blame all my personal problems on "The Entire World" around me.

With the suggesting of a Mentor (Bob was his name), I was encouraged to: "Take A Look At Myself And Make A Change." It didn't come fast or easy, but the changes I made put happiness back into my life.

As far as "The Entire World" goes, wouldn't it be great if everyone in power believed: "If You Want To Make The World A Better Place Take A Look At Yourself And Make A Change." Some in power are making changes that make the world a better place - can you spell "Bill and Linda Gates." Some in power are making changes, but not all of them are making the world a better place.

Some are changing "Their World" to enhance their position in life and could give a shit about how those changes affect "The Entire World." I'm not naming names because there are always two sides to a coin. This is not about any specific person. It's about all the people in power.

What I do believe is before you name names:

"Take A Look At Yourself And Make A Change."

Why The Hell Are We Going To Mars

Why The Hell Are We Going To Mars

In a previous blog I wrote that the United States and NASA should stop spending billions and billions on going to Mars and use that money to cure Cancer. Welllllllll, I've been thinking about that.

Yesterday I watched a 2009 movie called "2012." The movie is what my wife and I call a two checker. A four or five checker is an outstanding movie. A one checker is a movie that nobody went to see because the movie is one of the worst ever made.

That leaves us with a three and two checker. A three checker may not be a great movie, but, people watched it, might have some good acting and it probably has an OK plot that we've seen in many other movies.

The two checker can be almost anything. I've seen many two checker movies that sucked. However, I've seen many (I like movies) two checker movies that are pretty good. The movie "2012" is one of the better ones because it has a plot (though unrealistic), decent acting and, best of all, the movie blows a lot shit up.

This movie is about the Earth falling apart because of a major radioactive sun flair that starts to cook the Earth like it was put in a microwave oven. The story is about a group of scientists and politicians around the globe putting up billions and billions of dollars to create space ships that could send 400,000 people to Mars before Earth blows up in 2012.

Sorry for the long-winded blog, but, that movie got me thinking. Why are governments and billionaires like the founders of SpaceX and Virgin Galactic spending so much money to land on and inhabitant Mars? Could it be that these people KNOW the Earth is not going to last long if we keep treating it like shit? I'm sure it won't happen in a few years, but, it may happen in fifty years.

Why Mars? We know it has frozen ice (water is critical to life). We believe if we could change that ice to boiling water Mars might be able to create an atmosphere. Considering all the other planets and moons, Mars is the closest to Earth that could support a civilization.

Sooo, I now believe we need to go to Mars. With that said, I continue to believe the world needs to spend whatever it takes to cure Cancer and Alzheimer's NOW.

My suggestion to you all is:

Assume The Earth Is History And You're Going To Appreciate Every Day You Have On This Beautiful Blue Planet

Prime Time

Prime Time

Yesterday I was watching the NFL rookie combine. That's where the future NFL star players perform in front of the NFL teams that might select them to be on their team (and give them a shit load of money).

I realize that some of my blog readers around globe (I'm up to 13 countries) don't give a dam about American football, however, one of my favorite NFL players from the past, Deion Sanders (also known as Prime Time for his fantastic play on the field and his stardom and positive energy off the field) said something on the telecast that is right-on.

"we spend too much time looking for the wrong instead of looking for the right."

WOW, Deion, "you da man."

Wouldn't it be great if we all lived our lives looking for the right in everything and everyone instead of looking for the wrong? I assure you we would have a happier life.

Just a suggestion, the next time you come across someone you know or never met, think about looking for what's right about this person not just what's wrong with this person. The same can be said about business deals, political issues, etc., etc., etc.

One more time - Prime Time

"we spend too much time looking for the wrong instead of looking for the right."
