Never Buy A Hat If Your Feet Are Cold

Never Buy A Hat If Your Feet Are Cold

"Never Buy A Hat If Your Feet Are Cold" just happens to be the title of my first book. The subtitle of the book is: "Taking Charge Of Your Career And Your Life." If that's what you want to do, read my book. However, this blog is about another meaning of that title.

I married my second wife because she was the exact opposite of my first wife - Never Buy A Hat If Your Feet Are Cold. My current and future wife is nothing like either of them - I finally bought a pair of socks for my cold feet.

I accepted my first promotion because it came with more money, more power and my enhanced ego by being able to tell my family and friends "I was a Manager" - Never Buy A Hat If Your Feet Are Cold. I took a demotion to get into marketing (not as a Manager) because Marketing was more fun - I finally bought a pair of socks for my cold feet.

I purchased a 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Diesel because it was beautiful (the car was a piece of shit and broke down monthly) - Never Buy A Hat If Your Feet Are Cold. I traded it in (only one dealer would take a trade-in) and brought a Volvo. Back then the Volvo was a not very good looking square car. However, it was maintenance free and ran great for years - I finally bought a pair of socks for my cold feet.

Sooo, what is the moral of this story - don't do things just because you'll make more money - don't make decisions because you believe if one thing you tried was a disaster the opposite will turn out much better - don't buy things only because they are pretty and you believe will make you look better and more successful - Only do things because you truly believe it will lead to greater happiness.

Take a step back and think about how you're conducting your life. Happiness is:
