Why Doesn't The Federal Government Legalize Pot

Why Doesn't The Federal Government Legalize Pot

As you know the majority of states have legalized Pot for either medical purposes or recreational purposes. The Federal Government, however, classifies Pot at a Grade Three offence. Cocaine and heroin are also Grade Three offences.

What's wrong with that picture?

OK, about a third of the country believe Pot is a dangerous drug. The other two thirds either don't care or they have seen, heard or have personal experience with the good Pot has done for them or their loved ones (especially those with Cancer). I have a very bad back. The CPD and CPN form of Pot helps me get through the day without taking dangerous drugs like Oxycontin.

Let's take a look at Pot as compared to alcohol. The vast majority of car crashes and deaths are alcohol related. Many, many fights and abusive behavior (like beating up a wife) are caused by alcohol intoxicated people. Meanwhile, the Pot smokers are sitting on their couch smoking a joint (or vaping) watching 437 (the actual number) reruns of "Law and Order" while eating a bag of Cheetos.

Recreational use of Pot, as long as it's not abused, is a much safer drug than alcohol. It has less side effects. Pot has much less internal medical problems (especially if you eat it instead of smoking it) than alcohol. Pot is a clear winner over alcohol.

Many of the third of the country that wants Pot banned, drink alcohol. Some of those people take pain pills or other drugs to get them through the day. Sooo, is Pot good for you - NO! However, given the alternative, it's a lot better than the other ways to get high. A Country without anybody getting high would be great, but it's not realistic. Humans have found ways to get high a whole lot of years before America was discovered.

Sooooo, Why Doesn't The Federal Government Legalize Pot and tax the shit out of it? They do that with alcohol and cigarettes. Legalizing Pot would bring in billions. Maybe, more people will switch from alcohol and cigarettes to Pot. The cost of US medical expenses would dramatically be reduced. The cost of lives would be dramatically reduced. The sales of Cheetos would dramatically increase.

Again, Why Doesn't The Federal Government Legalize Pot? It's simple: the alcohol, cigarette and pharmaceutical companies who give many, many millions of dollars to Government Leaders and lobby them to make sure Pot stays illegal.

BTW, to hedge their bets, many of those companies own pot growing companies because they know:

Pot Is Happening - Like It Or Not
