How many times I've been in the right place, but at the wrong time - too many. 

One example, my company's IPO got me a lot of stock that was worth a lot of money - I was at the right place. However, because I had Founder's stock, I had to wait six months to cash in. Six months later the dot.com craziness went bust and my stock was worth ten cents on the dollar.

This example is the reverse of the first one. Because I was going through a divorce, I needed to sell the stock - wrong place. One year later, my stock would have worth ten times more.

In each of those examples I recovered financially. My life got a whole lot better, not because of my financial recovery, but because of my mental and social recovery.

I'm sure you have been in both the right place - wrong time and wrong place - right time. However, how manty of you are now in the right place at the right time?

If you're not at that place and time, take a step back and evaluate what it will take to get you there. Doing nothing will never change your situation. But remember, a radical change could make your situation worse.
