I'm An Optimist Who Worries A Lot

I'm An Optimist Who Worries A Lot

"I'm An Optimist Who Worries A Lot"
Madeleine Albright
President Obama's Secretary Of State

When Ellen and I watched the special on Madeleine Albright, she said: "I'm An Optimist Who Worries A Lot." Ellen and I looked at each other and said, at the same time, "That's Me."

Ellen is great. She sees the world as it could be, but she still worries about things - can you spell COVID. I was a pessimist most of my life. After therapy at forty, I realized that my pessimism and negative energy were not serving me and will never lead to a happy life.

As Uncle Charles always said: "always make something good out of something bad." That's me now. Today, I reject negative thinking, I truly believe something good is going to happen to me and the others I care about. However, I still worry a lot about some things.

Sounds like an oxymoron, but it's possible to be both. Worrying is not always a bad thing. Secretary of State Albright was always an optimist, but she worried about the direction the world was going. Worrying helped her fix things before they happened - that was her job.

I worry about doing something right. That worry gets me to make sure I dot all the "I"s and cross all the "T"s before I do something important or tell someone else what to do. When it's done right, I stop worrying.

If you are a pessimist and a worry wart, Life must suck for you. If you worry about stuff, It's human nature. I suggest you spend equal time seeing what's right about your life and the life of your love ones including the world we live in.

Watching a sunset, Watching the beauty of nature, loving the car you sit in, etc. etc. will help you become an:
